Chocolate Sandwich bento

top: plum, green grapes and veggie booty
bottom: chocolate sandwich (see below), babybel cheese, pumpkin seeds

I used Loacker brand Hazelnut spread (similar to Nutella), Sunbutter (personally, I like this better than peanut butter) and chopped steamed broccoli. I sneak a lot of vegetables into the Monkeys food. Broccoli is one of my favorites because you really do not taste it in most foods. I also give him store purchased "green juice", sometimes mixed with beet juice or carrot juice.

Believe it or not, he does. I think it helps that he likes the chunky sun butter so the he does not notice the texture of the broccoli. (Sometimes I use a small food processor to really mix it together) Out of most vegetables I have tested this way, broccoli is the least detectable. Yellow squash is another great vegetable to use as a puree. I have a great recipe for using it in corn muffins. The muffins are moist and you barely detect the squash flavor. The monkey will gobble these down. I will post the recipe if anyone is interested.
I also use broccoli in smoothies, frozen out of the bag. Again you don’t taste it with the fruit in there as well.
Green juice is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superfood_(Odwalla)
I have also used this in smoothies as well: http://www.amazon.com/Jacks-Harvest-Sweet-Broccoli-12-Ounce/dp/B001O4IKC6
